The
County of Leicestershire is a county of enormous diversity. Beautiful rolling fields, rocky crags, winding waterways, ancient woodland, historic country towns and picturesque villages provide the ultimate rural retreat. The eastern and southern parts of the County are every bit as attractive as the Cotswolds, but without the tourist pressure. In the north, the ancient Charnwood Forest creates an upland character reminiscent of the Peak District with drystone walls, heathland landscapes and biodiversity of great interest and importance. In the west, attractive Market Towns such as Market Bosworth also give good access to sites such as Bosworth Battlefield and Twycross Zoo. The major portion of the National Forest (equivalent to an area of 256 sq. km.) is located in north-western Leicestershire, representing a major developing leisure and recreational resource.
There is a good road network to ensure quick and easy travel to work and the area is served by railways radiating out to the north, east, south and south west from Leicester. The area is also well served for schools in the county towns, market towns and village schools. This means you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to deciding where to live.
